A Taste of Vignette Painting in Watercolour
Date: July 2
Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm with one hour for lunch
Cost: $85.00

This one-day class is designed as an introduction to the techniques of Vignette painting; using the whites of the page to tell the story. Bring your regular painting gear and be prepared to work outdoors. Bring small pieces of inexpensive watercolour paper for your rough work and two 10” x 14” sheets of 140lb. cold press Arches watercolour paper.

By the end of the day you may decide to continue studying this technique. If you have already taken my Vignette class, please join us to brush up on some of your skills.

Join us for this mixed media watercolour course to explore the many and varied techniques used to reproduce the texture on some of your favourite pieces of architecture. Bring along photos of buildings old and new including barns, cottages, villas and chalets. You will need your regular painting gear plus approximately six smaller sheets (10" x 10") of 300lb or 140lb cold press or rough Arches watercolour paper. Click here for materials list.

Watercolour Vignettes
Dates: July 26-30
Time: 9:00 - Noon
Cost: $185.00
Limit: 8 Students

Do you admire the watercolour painting style of Charles Reid and Judi Whitton? This class looks at the drawing technique, palette and brush stroke used by these masters while creating vignette style pieces. The entire class is all about using the white of the paper to define the shape. This concept will be applied to a floral, a still life, a landscape with people, and marsh scenes. You may want to purchase these colours or add "some" of them to your palette. This is not necessary.
Note: For painters with "some" experience.

Intermediate Watercolour/Beyond Beginner
Dates: 6 Saturday Mornings, February 19 - March 26, 2011
Times: 9:30 am - Noon

This class for those students who have completed Marion's beginner course. Join this class if you are ready to tackle bigger paintings creating and using spirit cards and landscape work. We will also be discussing matting, framing, and exhibiting your work. Bring your regular painting gear and 140 lb cold press arches paper.

Six Weeks - Six Floral Techniques
Dates: March 21 - April 25
Times: 7:00 - 9:30 pm
Cost: $195.00 - materials not included

This course is offered in conjunction with my "Garden Show" at Kuntz House Community Gallery in Waterloo, February 20th till April 1st 2011.

Each week features a different approach to painting flowers, including one garden scene. Be prepared to work on a variety of sizes of paper. Bring your regular painting gear, a board to support your paper, and 140 lb cold press Arches watercolour paper.

Private and Semi-Private Classes Now Available

Private classes are $60 an hour.
Semi-private classes are $45 an hour per person and will consist of two students.

An appointment to review your previous work and/or establish the lesson topics you would like to register for is highly recommended. Fee $30.
